'Cat Practice' RedLined

Description

Redline of =Aspenfrost's "Cat Practice" drawing.

This is sort of an advancement of my previous redline for Aspenfrost. It has the old tips, but even better :) By "better" I mean, more anatomically correct.

1. This one isn't shown in any of the reference photos, but I thought I'd mention it. Long hair on a cat's tail wouldn't end in a point like you have shown. The long hair would follow the law of gravity and be pointed toward the ground.

2. The cat's legs shouldn't be stretched out as far back as you had shown, it should be planted firmly under the cat's body to support it's weight unless the cat is walking/running/jumping/etc.

3. You made the cat's body more canine shaped. It's body should be thicker and more evenly distributed.

4. The cat's back should be lower then it's shoulder (unless the cat is stalking). Also, the elbow should be lower then what you had.

5. The ears. Remember they should be just about even with (or a tad higher than) the edge of the eye.

6. You did well with remembering that the profile of a cat's eye is triangular in shape (as with all forward facing animals). What I have to add is that the top should be a nearly straight horizontal line and the bottom line should be around a 45 degree angle.

7. The bridge of a cat's nose is a nearly straight line, just a slight curve for most cats.

8. I know I told you in my last redline to use a more prominent jaw (that was because you gave the cat an overbite). Along with that though, a cat's jaw is quite slender and only shows a little bit when the cat's mouth is closed.

I hope this helps!

Do you mind if I use this to reference cat anatomy for a commission I am doing?
